There are so many things I should be doing....

Well - it's been a LOOONG time since I've sat down to write. I have so much to say - I'm going to have to limit my thoughts. :)

We are officially in North Carolina and LOVING it. It is a breath of fresh air for us. We already feel very at home - and know that God has directed our paths to this new adventure.

My how life is busy w/ 2 kids. I had NO IDEA how hard it would be having one who needs a bottle - and one who is running around like a crazy person! NO more trips to Target or the Mall. I honestly can't control them both at the same time. The last few times I tried - I ended up holding Jaxen (Who was crying) - and chasing Kennedy - while pushing a cart with one hand. I left sweaty - and exhausted! Kennedy isn't bad - just one year old! She is sooo curious about life - and loves to touch and see everything possible. Her mind races - and it's so fun to watch her try to figure things out. She has been wanting to help with all the house projects -and on more than one occassion we have found her with a screwdriver - trying to "fix" something - or just help out. It's pretty cute!

Jaxen is pretty much sleeping through the night. He's doing 7 hours...although I think "Technically" sleeping through the night is 8. ?? He's so much more alert - and is smiling like crazy. Kennedy loves him so much - and can't stop kissing him and hugging him. He's not really crazy about it yet...but he will be! :)

This past weekend - Wes and Miranda flew out to see us - and ended up putting a roof on part of our house. It was a job that was supposed to take 2 mornings - but ended up being bigger than we thought. It took the whole time they were here. I felt sooo awful! SO much for a vacation! Wes and Miranda ended up finishing b/c Jon had to report to work in Washington, DC! It was an insane weekend. I think Wes will think twice before agreeing to help with any projects in the future. :( Miranda was a HUGE help to me with the kids. The idea was for them to fall in love w/ Jaxen and decide they want one of their own. But after a "day in the life of a sawhook" - I think perhaps we were birth control!!!

Wes and Miranda also agreed to fly Kennedy home with them. Since she is a free flight - we thought it would be a good excuse to spend a week with Grandma and Grandpa - without mommy! What a sad thing to watch your baby girl leaving - knowing that she's going on an airplane half way across the country!!! It was the worst feeling I've ever had. I wanted to vommit - and cried my eyes out like a baby!!! All the days that I've thought "man I'd like to send her away!" - all flashed before my eyes - and suddenly I wanted her BACK!!!

She's doing great w/ Mom and Dad - and they are eating this time alone w/ her UP!! I think they finally feel like grandparents!!! :) I will be flying out on Tuesday w/ Jaxen and staying for a week as well! My 10 year class reunion is Friday night(the 29th) - and somehow - I ended up in charge. I always find myself in these situations...I secretly love it! :)

There's a bit of an update. I am in the middle of painting - so I should get back before it dries up! :)

Thanks so much for the update, Rachel. I've checked from time to time, realizing you were busier than busy. Jaxen is a very handsome young man. I believe 7 hours should count for sleeping all night. How brave of you to send your baby girl so far away to see her grandparents. You might remember me telling you I cried for hours when we had to leave Jeremy home alone for a weekend and he was 16. I talked to Kennedy's Grandma tonight and she said things were going very well. We are looking forward to seeing you all next week and meeting Jaxen. Wes and Miranda are just awesome, aren't they? Try and get some rest. We love you all.

Ahhh. The good old days of shopping with two little ones! Sarah and Courtney are 18 months apart and I remember well the problems with taking them both to the store. The way I survived was to make out my list in order of what I need for today, then tomorrow, then the next day and so on. Sarah sat in the front of the cart and Courtney was in her carseat/carrier in the back. Kris and David had to walk along. Then all my purchases had to get stuffed around, under and on top of Court. I never got as much done and it required more frequent trips but I came home with stuff to survive the next few days!

Of course the best option is to wait until evening, take Daddy along, get two shopping carts and buy everything that you'll need for the next month!
